Mini Section - Under 8's
Grimsby RUFC under 8’s train at Springfield Road on Sundays
between10 and 12 (please see fixture list for details). Tag
rugby is a safe, fun and exciting form of non-contact rugby
for both boys and girls. Each player wears a belt that has two
'Velcro' tags attached to it. The defenders have to pull one
of the 'Velcro' tags from the ball-carrying attacking player,
to force the player to pass the ball.
It is a great way to develop team sports, sharing, playing by
the rules, learning discipline from the coach and meeting other
children from other schools in the local area.
We play various matches throughout the season, traveling as
far as Market Rasen, Doncaster and Hull as well as playing at
home. There is also a national tournament held in Nottingham.
After each match there is a free meal provided for the children
and we encourage parents to help out during the season. We also
provide a team kit.
Manager - Steve Ross
Steve has taken up the role of team manager this season having
helped out last season. His son is also part of the team.
Coach - Gary Taylor
Gary started coaching in the 2006-2007 season.
